Attorney-at-Law (Federal Republic of Germany)

Felix Krumbein was born in Bonn in 1969 and graduated from the Oelberg-Gymnasium in Koenigswinter in 1988.

He studied law at the University of Bonn (Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universitaet) from 1990 to 1996 and during this time gathered practical international experience in the cabinet of the President of the European Parliament in Strassburg and Brussels. In 1996, he passed the first bar examination at the Circuit Court of Appeals (Oberlandesgericht) in Duesseldorf.

From 1997 to 1999 he was engaged as a 'Referendar' in the judicial preparatory service (Referendar im Vorbereitungsdienst) of the State of North-Rhine-Westfalia and in this context worked for five months in the law firm (Sociedade de Advogados) Xavier, Bernardes, Bragança in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.

After having passed the second bar examination at the Attorney General´s office in Duesseldorf in May 1999 he was admitted to the bar by the Bar Association of Cologne (Rechtsanwaltskammer Koeln). He has increasingly specialised in cases and suits of family law including conflict of laws, and since March 2003 additionally was approved as an expert attorney in family law (Fachanwalt für Familienrecht). In summer 2004 he was admitted to practice before the Circuit Court of Appeals.

Felix Krumbein is a member of the German Lawyers Association (Deutscher Anwalt Verein – DAV), the Working Group for Family Law of DAV (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Familienrecht des DAV), the Lawyers Association of Bonn (BAV), the German-Brazilian Lawyers Association (Deutsch-Brasilianische Juristenvereinigung e.V.) as well as the German-Brazilian Society.

His foreign languages are English and Portuguese.
